This presentation review the results of using a cultural heritage and urban regeneration project brief with a number of groups of final year students working in a range of virtual environments. The deliverables and results of each group reveal not only differences in the abilities and motivations of the groups, but also some of the strengths, weaknesses and idiosyncrasies of the different platforms used. In this presentation we reflect on the use of cultural heritage projects in virtual worlds, as well as on the project outcomes and what they reveal about each of the platforms.
